TOUR STOP 12: NEEDHAM POLICE
November 3: Today the Zo Much More " ๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐-๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑitude Tour " stopped at pretty important place - the Needham Police!
We are so lucky in Needham to have a Police Department who proactively reaches out to the autism community and sets the tone in Needham as an inclusive community. In fact, they are so proactive and supportive that they posted about this tour stop even before we could!
As amazing as the school resource officer program is for the entire school district, it's all the more so for the special education population. The Police are true partners with the district and with special education families offering everything from station visits to visits to TOPSoccer to speakers on SEPAC panels. It's incredibly reassuring to know that the Police are familiar with Zoe and recognize her when she is out in the community. And of course, who doesn't love Officer Rocket?
Not surprisingly, Officer Rocket factored heavily into the Zo Much More products Zoe created for the Needham Police. Zoe also pulled through the theme of the police car and Needham Police colors. Thank you, Needham Police!
(In case you missed it ... While the specifics of Zoe's Post-22 life are still a work in progress, we wanted to use these last few weeks in her beyond awesome Needham High School Post-Graduate Program to thank the many local places in Needham that have served as her community classroom to help her develop important life and social skills as she graduates into her role as a productive adult member of this community. Nicknamed the ""๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐-๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑitude Tour", Zoe has been stopping by several local establishments over the past 3-4 weeks, accompanied by her super-dedicated NHS Post-Grad support, delivering sample Zo Much More products that she made and customized for each place uniquely inspired by her interactions with them.)
